What do you do in a situation where you know you are being backed into a corner and forced to make a decision you really dont want to? Our so called caring Government are bringing into force policies that not only will affect me but thousands like me and maybe more...
The "CHANGES" to Welfare benefits and housing which will dramatically have an effect on a lot of the British people who are vulnerable, disabled, poor and dependent on their welfare benefits in order to survive and keep a roof over their heads...its hard enough that life is tough enough for these people...yeah ok I agree there are some scroungers who take advantage of the system....but hey ho havent those in "POWER" done the same thing....only what makes it worse in their case is they already have wealth....and live in luxurious mansion homes...often have two...Oh yeah you might think I am only envious...yes..too right I am...
But er HELLO who is keeping these people in their luxurious lifestyles...THE BRTISH TAX PAYER... I know I was one of them once, until I was violently attacked where I was employed and then dismissed on medical health grounds... My disabilities deter me now from working in the same career I was in nursing and caring for other people with severe mental health/physical disabilities. I am myself now disabled and suffer from a painful disabilitiy Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome....then in April this year I had a cardiac arrest since then my whole life has been turned upside down...I was diagnosed with a severe heart condition which is irreaprable and there is no cure...it will deteriorate...So, yes I am one of the thousands that try and survive on my welfare benefits....
Now the government want to take these off people like myself and those who are severely disabled...not only that they are changing the Housing policy creating a "Room Tax" very similar to the "Window Tax" that was in force centuries ago...This is going to create nothing but Ghettos and misery for a lot of people who have no alternative but to rent their homes because they cant afford to buy one or have the means of buying one or getting on the property ladder! Mortguages are way beyond some peoples incomes depending on where they live or want to live. I cant help thinking that this is what one would call 'elitism' and has echoes of what Charles Dickens wrote about in Victorian times 'A Christmas Carol' is a prime example and the main character Scrooge... his philosophy is very similar to what this government intentions are
To quote from Dickens Book "two charitable men come in and ask Scrooge if he is willing to help
them raise a fund to help the poor, but Scrooge comments that he pays
taxes for the poor. The two charitable men comment that many would
rather die than go to a government funded workhouse. To which Scrooge
responds: "If they'd rather die then perhaps they had better do so and
decrease the surplus population" and angrily dismisses them.
Scrooge has only disgust for the poor, thinking the world would be
better off without them, "decreasing the surplus population," and praise
for the Victorian-era-workhouses and prisons."
Now I may sound like a whinging old minnie...but its frightening to think that I may be forced to live in a shoe box in some 'Ghetto' in a community I dont know not familiar with and leave behind a home that I have built up and made comfortable and beautiful.....because the super-rich can live there and create their own elitist shangrilas ...Yes, I live in The Cotswolds but so what....why should I be forced away from my community here...Yet what gets me is that some Asylum seeker or refugee from some foreign country can come into this country and demand to live wherever they choose...and get full welfare benefits plus their homes fitted out with furnishings etc... I also note that the Government scrapped the 'MANSION TAX' only because it will affect most of the MP's , our dear PM and not forgetting Chancellor...oh, by the way they are all super rich and have two or three luxurious mansion homes...Oh yes, and lets not forget their families and super rich friends that they entertain..often at the Tax payers expense through the MP's expenses claims to which they are entitled to and yet abuse the system regularly fraudulently. To add insult to injury the MP's have asked for a PAY RISE er....what happened to "WE ARE ALL IN IT TOGETHER" I ask myself what are they sacrificing....NOTHING!!! They are taking away from those in Society who are vulnerable, elderly, disabled and poor already... ROBBING the poor to supplement the RICH and MP's so they can hold onto their luxurious lifestyles and homes.. I wonder how long they would last living in a shoe box with no garden, no means to get out because they cant afford rail fares, or any other public transport...and those that depended on their motability cars have had them taken from them...so therefore become a prisoner within their own little shoe box home in a community they are not familiar with or know!
So, what next?????....The poor houses, the poor having to go to the parish for help, the workhouses opening up....??? We already have food handouts by charitable organisations for those who cant even afford to feed themselves or their families...who are struggling with household bills and may lose everything because they cant get any help....because our Prime Minister says that the "Community should take care of themselves".....Oh, sounds like the historical Marie Antoinette...'let them eat cake' well, we all know what happened to her....a revolution came about and she was executed along with all the rest of the Aristocracy... BEWARE Mr Cameron because you could well have a REVOLUTION on your hands...and lets face it....MP's can be voted out...by the British Electorate ....I will be one of them!!!!
I also refuse to be BULLIED into submission to move into a shoe box...by the Government taking away a percentage of my Benefits..I will die first before that happens!!! Then you Mr Cameron will have that on your concience along with a lot of other people who are going to suffer from your actions!!!!
